AVON AND SOMERSET CONSTABULARY Wor/qruj ivithyou - 'Worfqngfor you elicopter Line Pilot Based at Filton Airfield, Bristol Starting salary £36,626 pa (£28,626 rising to £30,831 pa plus 16 market factors at £500 each) 37 hours per week over 7 days, 24 hours per day We are seeking to appoint a Line Pilot to provide aerial support to ground-based officers within the consortium thus enhancing the response to firearms incidents, road traffic collisions etc. The constabulary also has a downlink facility which allows images filmed by an on-board camera to be viewed in the Communications Department. Consequently aerial support has become an integral factor in our drive to reduce crime. Possessing knowledge of Civil Aviation legislation, you will be part of a team operating a new Eurocopter EC 135 (SPIFR). It is essential that you: • hold a UK Airline Transport Pilot's Licence (Helicopters) with 5 years' experience of flying helicopters; • have 2000 hours total flying time with 500 hours as Pilot in Command including 50 hours at night; • have 100 hours' experience of twin engine rotary aircraft; • be able to work effectively as a member of a small team; • be able to demonstrate effective use of English and Mathematics. You will be expected to reside within 45 minutes travelling time of the operating base. Ref: 001B/02.
