History The airline was established by the Kilachand Group, manufacturer of synthetic rubber products. Fleet 2 x Raytheon Beech 99 Transbrasil was the third-largest Brazilian airline, competing on the highly competitive domestic market and flying inter national services to North America and to Lisbon in Europe, with Boeing 767s and 737s. Financial troubles forced the airline to cease operations on 4 December, 2001, and attempts to restart were dealt a severe blow when the Brazilian CAA suspended its air operator's certificate on 5 February 2002.
