When you're growing, you count on your training. That's why SkyWest counts on FlightSafety." BRAD HOLT Vice President of Flight Operations, SkyWest Airlines Holt started flying in high school, and began his aviation career shuttling roughnecks to and from oilrigs. In search of a safer rou tine, he began flying for SkyWest Airlines in 1983 and became SkyWest's Chief Right Instructor in 1984. Eventually Holt would lead SkyWest's training department as Director of Flight Standards, and now serves as Vice President of Flight Operations. He main tains ratings for the CRJ and flies as a check airman. SKYWEST AIRLINES' VP OF FLIGHT OPERATIONS Brad Holt has an uncomplicated business philoso phy: find what works and stick with it. And that philosophy extends to flight training. "We established a great working relationship with FlightSafety in the mid-'80s, and it has continued to work well ever since," says Holt. He knows that pilot training for Utah-based SkyWest - the world's largest independently owned airline - is all the more important as the company continues to grow. Now taking delivery of new Canadair Regional Jets every month, SkyWest depends on FlightSafety simulator technology and facilities for training on the airline's new aircraft and its existing fleet of Embraer 120 Brasilias. "If you're not bringing type-specific expertise and a pilot's know-how to your training technology, you're not building simulators with a well-informed background and perspective. FlightSafety knows firsthand what it takes to get a quality result. "It's been a rewarding 15-year collaboration, and it's succeeded for a simple reason - I know FlightSafety will deliver what they say they will."
