Qatar Airways is one of the Gulf's youngest airlines. Based in Doha we fly to 34 destinations in Europe, The Middle East, Far East & Asia with our modern fleet of Airbus A-330, A-320 and A-300 aircraft. Due to our continued expansion we are looking for enthusiastic professionals to join our Technical team. Development Engineer - Systems (Ref: DES/95/02) The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the relevant airframe and/or its mechanical systems on Qatar Airways fleet of A300-600, A320 and A330 aircraft. The task will involve evaluation of manufacturers recommendations and regulatory requirements to meet operational demands, and achieving required technical standards with effective cost control. Computer literacy is essential. Investigation of systems and their reliability, and providing appropriate recommendations by means of interface with internal departments, manufacturers and suppliers will be required. Development Engineer - Power Plants (Ref: DEP/96/02) The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the engines and APU's installed in the Qatar Airways fleet of A300-600, A320 and A 330 aircraft. The task will involve evaluation of manufacturers recommendations and regulatory requirements to meet operational demands, and achieving required technical standards with effective cost control. Computer literacy is essential. Engine condition monitoring, work-scope preparation, reliability investigation and interface with manufacturers and suppliers will be required. We are seeking engineers with extensive knowledge and experience of airframes and mainly their mechanical systems and propulsion units with at least 8 years of relevant Development and/or acceptable Maintenance experience. Candidates will posses either an acceptable Degree in a relevant discipline and/or hold an acceptable ICAO type II licence in the appropriate category. Practical experience in the area of airframes and systems maintenance and/or power plants especially on those aircraft operated by Qatar Airways will be a distinct advantage. Quality Assurance Engineer (Ref: QAE/97/02) To ensure that an air worthy, reliable and quality product is provided by applying constant maintenance standards and adherence to the Company's Maintenance Organisation Exposition. To survey base departments, line stations and aircrafts, investigate incidents and defects, assess authorisation applications and conduct associated examination. Produce instructions and notices, determine solutions to operational problem and provision of advice to improve the quality and economics of aircraft and component maintenance. To liase with airworthiness authorities to ensure Company's product and performance meet acceptable standards. Candidates with a technical/aeronautical engineering with Airframe & Engine ICAO Type II Maintenance Licence covering at least two of the following aircraft types: A300-600 (PW4000), A320 (IAE V2500-A5), A330 (GE CF6-80C2). Must have at least 15 years related experience in line or base maintenance of which at least 5 years should have been in a Quality Assurance environment. Candidates must posses a sound understanding of JAR 145 regulations, JAR-OPS-1 sub part M requirements. Candidates should have extensive experience in carrying out defect investigations/conducting, Authorisation Boards and carrying out Quality Audits to JAR 145 requirements. Should be computer literate and must have strong technical report writing skills. Production Planning Engineer (Ref: PPE/99/02) Responsible for the production and distribution of aircraft maintenance plans/task cards and ensuring that the associated inspections, repairs, overhauls and modification documentation is produced to the required standards and in a timely cost effective manner. The tasks will involve preparation of work packages, materials pre-load lists and schedule maintenance work packs for the Airbus fleet along with the preparation/publication of short and long term forecasts for airframe, engine and component maintenance. Candidates must have an acceptable degree or equivalent in aeronautical/mechanical engineering together with a minimum of ten years' experience in airline Production Planning environment. Alternatively candidates with a Type II ICAO licence with extensive experience will be considered. A good knowledge of aircraft systems/Engine Manufacture Planning documents MSG-2 and MSG-3 processes, ability to extract/compile data and analyse maintenance cost, must be computer literate with sound knowledge of Windows 95/98, MS Office and must be able to negotiate maintenance agreements and communicate effectively at all levels.
