Senior Operations Officer (Senior Operations Inspector) Civil Aviation Department, Hong Kong up to US$136,038 p.a. * plus Non-accountable Cash Allowance of US$38,400 p.a. (subject to periodic revision) and Gratuity • Low tax area - maximum 15% • Generous leave • Medical and dental benefits THE ROLE: The duties of Senior Operations Officer (Senior Operations Inspector) include conducting of station facilities, ramp and base inspections, and other safety oversight inspections of the Air Operator's Certificates holders to ensure that the operator's documentation with respect to operations and training manuals, and all other instructions to operating staff are in compliance with the established policies and standards; observing professional pilot training, monitoring standards and ensuring that the training is carried out in accordance with all relevant legislation; and examining persons for appointment as authorised examiners for the grant of Private Pilot Licence and handling matters on Flying Training Organisation and ground training courses. You may be required to travel extensively on duty and work irregular hours. QUALIFICATIONS: You should have (a) a current Airline Transport Pilot's Licence (ATPL) (Aeroplane) with eight years' relevant post-licence experience and at least 5,000 hours of air transport pilot experience, of which a significant proportion should be on civil transport aeroplanes; or (b) an International Civil Aviation Organisation state's Commercial Pilot's Licence (Aeroplane) with Instrument Rating; and a minimum of seven years' post-licence qualification experience in civil aviation management and operations or as a regulator; and have passed the ATPL examinations. TERMS OF APPOINTMENT AND SALARY: The appointment will be for an agreement, with annual leave, of three years' resident service. The salary scale is from HK$76,755 to HK$88,425 per month (approximately from US$9,840 to US$11,337 per month.*) Upon satisfactory completion of the full contract period, you will be granted a gratuity for the period of service. In addition, in compliance with the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance, the Government will arrange to make contributions for the appointee to a registered mandatory provident fund scheme (MPF scheme). The gratuity payable for the agreement will be the sum which, when added to the Government's contribution to the said MPF scheme, equals 15% of the total basic for the agreement will be the sum which, when added to the Government's contribution salary of the substantive office drawn during the period of agreement. Candidates with additional experience are also invited to apply and may be granted increments for previous relevant experience in excess of the stipulated minimum. For housing benefits, there is a Non-accountable Cash Allowance, currently at HK$24,960 per month (approximately US$3,200 per month*) subject to periodic revision. Candidates who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation in about six to eight weeks from the closing date for application. Those who are not invited for interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
