Initially, the carrier was operated as an on- demand air taxi between Miami and Cap-Haitien, Haiti, but was relocated to the Bahamas when the political climate of Haiti forced that operation to cease. In May 1994, Gulfstream signed a codeshare agreement with United Airlines, and in December 1995 made the transition from a FAR 135 carrier to FAR 121, allowing it to operate larger aircraft. Gulfstream's parent, G-Air Holdings, acquired Paradise International Airlines in August 1998. The United arrangement was replaced by a similar agree ment with Continental Airlines.
