We need a forward thinking Health & Safety Coordinator to assist in the design and continued development of the MyTravel Aircraft Engineering (MTAE) Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Management System. The SHEQ Management System will ensure that we have a positive safety culture and that we meet / exceed the requirements of both the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and the Health and Safety Executive. The successful candidate will report to the Quality Manager and will have a key responsibility in supporting Line Managers in the implementation of the SHEQ Management System to enable safe systems of work to be in place that will provide the framework to ideally prevent, or at least control, accidental loss to a tolerable level. You will need to provide practical advice to management regarding compliance with relevant Health & Safety legislation and assist in the identification of training needs for both managers and employees. In addition you will be required to design and deliver internal training courses to both managers and all employees to ensure there is a full understanding of responsibilities. To fulfil the above role you must have :- • 3 years experience as an Health and Safety Co-ordinator /Advisor • Obtained a comprehensive knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation • A NEBOSH Diploma - by examination • An appreciation of Joint Aviation Requirements • A good knowledge of Risk Assessment techniques • Experience of Accident / Incident Reporting and Investigation • A working knowledge of the following Microsoft applications - Word, Excel, Powerpoint An Engineering background together with knowledge of Environmental Legislation and Presentation skills would be advantageous.
