Airbus is declining to comment over reports that Mexican carrier Interjet has tentatively agreed to acquire 40 A320neo twinjets.
The airline's chairman, Miguel Aleman Velasco, is said to have revealed the agreement during the business summit Cumbre de Negocios in Queretaro. Local media covering the event reported his remarks.
Airbus will not confirm the agreement as it will not comment on customer negotiations.
Interjet is already an A320 operator but is also a customer for the Sukhoi Superjet 100, for which it recently extended an initial order.
Mexican operator Aeromexico has newly signed for the Boeing 737 Max while Volaris has agreed to acquire A320neos.
