Middle Eastern carrier Oman Air has contracted Boeing to provide a range of maintenance services, including component support, for its on-order 787 fleet.
The deal also covers aircraft health monitoring and management services plus maintenance of the onboard software architecture. However, Boeing's statement disclosing the agreement does not mention any connection to the airframer's GoldCare aftermarket programme.
Component services will cover "high-value, mission-critical" rotable equipment and give Oman Air access to a parts pool managed by Boeing, the manufacturer says.
It adds that continuous monitoring of the aircraft systems' performance will enable the airline "to minimise maintenance delays and schedule disruptions".
Oman Air has ordered six 787-8s, the first two of which are scheduled for delivery by year-end. Later deliveries are to be switched to the larger 787-9 variant, the airline's chief executive Paul Gregorowitsch told Flightglobal in November 2014.
