PARIS: Parker strikes partnership deal on 787 component MRO

Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance and Parker Aerospace have arranged a partnership to service the US manufacturer's hydraulic equipment on Boeing 787s.

The long-term MRO co-operation covers "the vast majority of repairable and test-only components" of the Parker-designed hydraulic system on the long-haul twinjet, the manufacturer says.

Under the agreement, Parker and AFI KLM E&M will jointly develop repairs and share best practices to service the equipment for 787 operators.

"The collaboration focuses on repair development and work-scoping to help optimise on-wing time and reduce delays, cancellations and overall cost," Parker says.

However, the manufacturer notes that the co-operation "does not preclude other agreements between Parker Aerospace and its customers".

AFI KLM E&M executive vice-president Anne Brachet says: "We see this as further reinforcing our Boeing 787 support programme to the benefit of our customers."

In 2017, Parker disclosed a similar partnership with Lufthansa Technik for the manufacturer's equipment on the Airbus A350.
