Cebu Pacific took delivery of its first Airbus A321 aircraft on 22 March, setting it up for a year of growth.
The aircraft, registered RP-C4111, is fitted with 230 Recaro seats in an all-economy configuration.
This year, the Philippine low-cost carrier is scheduled to add seven A321s from March through to September, before its first Pratt & Whitney PW1100G-powered A321neo is delivered in November.
The carrier tells FlightGlobal that the A321s will “free up” some A330s that are used on short-haul services to go further afield, while the A321neos will give it the capability to reach destinations including Brisbane, Perth, Sapporo, Vladivostok and cities in India.
Besides the seven A321s, Cebu Pacific has 32 A321neos on order, scheduled to be delivered through to 2022.
Flight Fleets Analyzer shows that the carrier has 35 A320s and eight A330s in service.
