Brazilian airframer Embraer has released the first engineering images of the Phenom 100 very light jet exclusively to flightglobal.com.

The CATIA V5 renderings, shown below, picture the 8-place aircraft without its Pratt & Whitney Canada's PW617F engines. The engineering images appear also to be the basis of the computer generated artists' impressions of the type released at the time of their launch at last year's US National Business Aircraft Association annual convention.

Last week Embraer unveiled plans to grow its business aviation portfolio beyond the Phenom 100 and its larger sister, the Phenom 300 and the regional jet-based Legacy 600. The São José dos Campos-based airframer is studying new business jets in a further four market segments and says a final decision on the next family member will be made later this year.

A full programme update of the Embraer Phenom will appear next week in the 25 April-1 May edition of Flight International magazine.
