Major aerospace groups have driven much of the consolidation with the coming together of United Technologies and Rockwell Collins, L3 and Harris, Northrop Grumman and Orbital, TransDigm and Esterline, and Parker Hannifin and Lord. Parker also said in July that it is to acquire privately-owned Exotic Metals for $1.56 billion.
