Oneworld carriers TAM and Japan Airlines (JAL) have applied to the US Department of Transportation to codeshare.
The airlines say they plan to implement their codeshare on or about 12 December.
TAM is requesting to display JAL's code on their flights between Sao Paulo and New York, Rio de Janeiro and New York, and Sao Paulo and Los Angeles.
In return, JAL plans to display TAM's code on its flight between Tokyo and New York.
