History: JAL is the successor to the original privately owned company of the same name which began operating in August 1951. The new JAL came into being in October 1953 as the national airline with a Government holding of 50%. Jersey European Airways operates scheduled passenger services to Belfast City, Birmingham International, Black pool, Bournemouth, Dinard, Exeter, Guernsey, Isle of Man, London (Stansted), Manchester, Paris, Southampton and Teesside. The airline also undertakes charter flights. Subsidiaries: JEA (Engineering) can perform all major checks on aircraft up to Fokker F.27 size, including the BAe 748, Boeing de Havilland Twin Otter, Embraer Bandeirante and Shorts 330 and 360. With full CAA approval, the company is currently supporting more than 40 large public-transport aircraft. History: The company was formed in 1979, when it took over the routes of Intra Airways. In November 1983 the airline was taken over by the Walker Group (C. W. Walker and Sons), parent company of Spacegrand Avia tion. Jugoslovenski Aerotransport (JAT-Jugoslav Airlines) is wholly state owned. An extensive network of scheduled passenger services is operated to 16 domestic points and 48 cities in Western Europe, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, North America, the Middle and Far East and Australia. History: JAT was formed in 1947. Subsidiaries: Air Jugoslavia is a subsidiary formed to operate charters using JAT aircraft when required. JAT undertakes maintenance for its own aircraft and for other operators, and operates Airlift (tour operator), JAT Catering, JAT Training Centre, JAT Medical Centre, Agricultural Aviation, two airports, and JAT ground transportation. Fleet: three DC-10-30, one DC-10-30CF, eight Boeing 727-200, nine 737-300, eight DC-9-30, three ATR42. On order: three ATR72. However, the company will extend its domestic operations this year on delivery of .. new ATR 72s. Toivelomat-Dreamtours, a tour operator, is a fully owned subsidiary. History: Karair was established in 1957 to continue the operations of Karhumaki Airways, formed in 1951 and a subsidiary of the old-established Karhumaki aircraft man ufacturing organisation. Kelowna Flightcraft Air Charter is a subsidiary of Kelow- na Flightcraft Ltd., which specialises in modification of Convair airliners and flies transcontinental charters across Canada. History: The parent company was formed in 1970 and the charter subsidiary in 1974. Fleet: two Boeing 727-100QC, five Convair 580, one Douglas DC-3, one Gulfstream 1, one Beech 60A Duke, two Cessna 402B, one 310N, one 210L, one Piper PA-28- 161 Arrow. History: The company was formed in 1967 as Premiair Aviation Pty. Ltd. and started scheduled services in 1971. The name was changed to Kendell Airlines in 1982.
