Discover the 3DEXPERIENCE at the Paris Air Show

Innovation, responding rapidly to customer demands, and accelerating product development are key requirements in today’s fast-moving world of aerospace design and manufacturing. At the Paris Air Show, Dassault Systèmes will be displaying how its technology can help.

Attend an aerospace event and there is an increasing likelihood that listed somewhere in the programme will be a presentation about the passenger experience.

No longer is it sufficient to design an aircraft merely for the purpose of transporting passengers from A to B, in one piece. To be competitive carriers' focus has shifted to providing passengers with an in-flight experience that they will remember, treasure and, more importantly, wish to repeat in the future.

Creating such memorable experiences demands an innovative approach from aerospace manufacturers. This focus means original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) consider all aspects of the end-user’s experience. And, all functions – marketing, sales, design, engineering, manufacturing and the supply chain – work in collaboration.

The 3DEXPERIENCE® platform from Dassault Systèmes provides a collaborative environment that enables teams from functions across a company to work together to build planes that are lighter and have less impact on the environment and offer more comfort to passengers. If OEMs can deliver to these standards to their airline customers, consumers will win.

At the newly-opened 3DEXPERIENCE Center on the Wichita State University Innovation Campus in the USA, Dassault Systèmes and the National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) are offering aerospace and defence companies the opportunity to bring a team to innovate together in a state-of-the-art, collaborative lab.

The facility delivers access to a full suite of 3D design, analysis, simulation and manufacturing software solutions, all on one business platform developed specifically for the aerospace and defence sector. Long-standing industry partner Dassault Systèmes provides the tools to businesses with the drive to innovate, allowing them to test their ideas in a virtual environment.

The 3DEXPERIENCE platform, built on the renowned and trusted V6 digital architecture introduced in 2008, provides access to real time status of key performance indicators, so programme management and extended teams always know performance to plan. When programmes stay on track, companies can spend more time on innovation and minimising risks while lowering costs up front.

The purpose of the 3DEXPERIENCE Center is to accelerate aerospace companies’ ability to innovate, from initial concept through to certification.

Five major on-site laboratories, including an Immersive Lab focused on virtual and augmented reality, a Robotics Lab focused on multi-robotics advanced manufacturing (MRAM), and an Additive Manufacturing Lab, help companies develop the newest and most up-to-date materials and manufacturing techniques.

Modelling and simulation and 3D immersive environments are part of the digital thread. And organisations use a data driven approach to both managing programmes and improving the customer experience.

Dassault Systèmes invites aerospace and defence companies to experience what its 3DEXPERIENCE platform can do for them. Company representatives will be on hand at the Dassault Systèmes stand at this year’s Paris Air Show to walk visitors through its 21st century business experience platform, and explain how it can help turn ideas into certified aircraft that delights passengers and drives more business for airline operators.
