NetJets China’s plans to offer charter services for its growing customer base have moved one step closer, following the firm’s receipt of an operating permit from the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

The company – a joint venture between the fractional ownership giant and a consortium of Chinese investors, led by private equity firm Hony Capital and Fung Investments – is hoping to receive final approval “in the next few months”.

In the meantime, NetJets China says it is preparing for the start of flight operations. The Zhuhai-headquartered company says it has already purchased and imported two aircraft, which will be used for charter services "as soon as the government grants its approval".
