Pratt & Whitney's PW4168 has received its 180 minute Etops approval for the A330.
Shannon Aerospace has secured business as the primary facility for Lufthansa Technik and Swissair for the overhaul of the B737, B757 and MD-80 aircraft. Heavy maintenance work will increase at Shannon, which will also provide A320 overhaul services by 1998.
Lufthansa has named Rockwell Collins as its prefered avionics supplier for its A319 fleet and for future aircraft including the A320, A321, A340-300 and B747-400.
The US FAA has certified Fans-1 avionics for the Boeing 747-400 and for B777.
The ATR42-500 has received certification from the French, Italian and UK authorities.
