THE AUSTRALIAN Government has licensed AWA Defence Industries to market the Nulka active missile decoy. The move follows sea trials conducted by the US Navy and Royal Australian Navy (RAN).
The all-weather hovering rocket decoy was developed under a collaborative programme with the USN from a concept conceived by the Australian Defence Science & Technology Organisation.
AWA Defence was awarded a production contract in 1994 worth A$23 million ($11 million).
