Boeing hits 568

Boeing says it finished 1997 with total orders for 568 airliners valued at $42.8 billion compared with 460 firm orders worth $29.6 billion reported by Airbus Industrie. Boeing's net orders, subtracting cancellations and conversions to other models, totalled 502 aircraft worth $39.1 billion.
