Air Littoral, the Montpellier-based regional airline, and its subsidiary Air Littoral Industrie, were put into liquidation by a French commercial court on 17 February, six months after being put under administration and after several potential buyers failed to come up with funds. The clothing group Alain Dum‚nil, appointed by the court on 5 February to take over the airline, pulled out of the deal on 16 February. Jean Durand, managing director of Air Littoral, says the decision by the French government to ground the airline's aircraft on safety grounds, had "closed the door to any potential buyer".
