Eaton Aerospace is offering cockpit integrated array panel systems for business, regional and commuter aircraft that it says are up to 50% lighter and smaller than existing designs.
These also offer cooler operation, plus superior optics and switches. Eaton (Hall 3, C11) is currently using this technology to develop a cockpit-mounted overhead panel for the new Dassault F7X business jet.
The integrated array panel's modular design allows OEMs to tailor the unit to their particular needs. Their enclosed circuit boards can accommodate lighting controls, microprocessing logic, business communications and other electronic interfaces.
Eaton has just been chosen to design and supply the integrated cockpit assemblies for China's AVIC 1 regional jet.
The panel assemblies in use will include Eaton's NEXGEN LED-illuminated pushbutton switches and Type-7 edge-lit panels. Eaton will also design and supply a multi-channel cockpit lighting controller.
