COCKPIT APPROVAL

The Kazan-based Mil Design Bureau has gained Russian certification of a version of the Mi-17 helicopter equipped with a glass cockpit supplied by the Lahav division of Israel Aerospace Industries.

LEGAL CHALLENGE

AgustaWestland has begun legal proceedings to contest the award to Eurocopter in August 2006 of a contract to supply seven helicopters to the French police. The manufacturer claims the tender was written too tightly around the specification of the EC145. In 2005 the European Commission rejected the Italian government's justification for awarding contracts directly to AgustaWestland and failing to open procurements to tender.

PROPELLER STC

Hartzell Propeller has received supplemental type certification to install new three-bladed propellers on Beech 58, 58A and G58 Barons that are equipped with Teledyne Continental IO-520 and IO-550 engines.
