British Aerospace has appointed AVM Tony Harrison executive vice-president and general manager for Singapore. In particular, Harrison will be focusing on the Eurofighter EF 2000 programme in this region.

Harrison, whose appointment was announced this week at the show, brings something of a pedigree to the post. A former pilot in the Royal Air Force, he has flown the Panavia Tornado GR1 and commanded the service's famous 617 'Dambuster' Squadron .

Most recently, he was assistant chief of defence staff (operations) at the UK Ministry of Defence.

Harrison says one of his key priorities in Singapore will be the EF 2000 programme. "We believe that EFA as a next-generation, multi-role aircraft is right for this area and for Singapore in particular," he says.
