Thai low-fare start-up carrier Nok Air, part-owned by Thai Inter- national, has appointed advertising executive Patee Sarasin as its chief executive.
JAL Group chief executive Isao Kaneko will remain in charge as chairman and chief executive of holding company, Japan Airlines, which will change its name in June from Japan Airlines System Corp. JAL Domestic is being headed by president Mitsuo Komatsubara, previously senior vice-president of JAS.
Air Nauru, which serves the central Pacific region from Australia and Fiji, has named Geoffrey Bowmaker as its chief executive. He was formerly with Qantas, Air Pacific and Royal Tongan Airlines.
Sue Oliver, senior vice-president human resources of American Airlines, is to become senior vice-president of people for Wal-Mart Stores. She is being succeeded by Jeffrey Brundage, American's vice-president of employee relations.
KLM veteran Henny Essenberg, executive vice-president passenger business, is leaving the carrier in July at his own request. He will be replaced by Hans de Roos, who is currently senior vice-president network.
