Boeing is to use a braking system from French firm Messier-Bugatti for the first time on a 767-300 next month following extensive tests earlier this year.
The two companies agreed a contract in 1997 which was followed by a programme of further research and testing.
Messier-Bugatti's braking system uses six pistons and four rotors and is based on its Sepcarb III carbon-composite material.
The company expects the contract to help open up further markets for its products.
