Swedish carrier Braathens Regional has selected French maintenance specialist Sabena Technics to provide rotable component support for an ATR 72 turboprop fleet.

The contract is effective this month and covers access to a component pool, equipment warranty management, repairs, and modifications, plus logistics services, says Paris-headquartered Sabena Technics.

Repairs will be conducted at the MRO provider's site at Dinard in northwestern France.

Braathens Regional operates five ATR 72-500s and two 600-series variants, Flightglobal's Fleets Analyzer database shows.

It has an additional seven ATR 72-600s on order. The aircraft will be used to replace Saab 2000s and some of the airline's older ATR 72-500s.

Braathens Regional and its sister carriers Malmo Aviation and Sverigeflyg will start operating under a single brand – Braathens Regional Airlines – later this year as part of group reorganisation.
