Airbus achieved gross orders for 1,458 aircraft in 2007, exceeding Boeing's 1,423, but had to account for over 100 widebody cancellations.

The airframer values its gross orders at $181.1 billion.

Its gross orders included 511 Airbus A330s, A340s and A350 XWBs as well as 914 A320-family jets and 33 A380s.

But correcting for the transfer of A350 orders and cancellation of two large A340-600 commitments brought the mid-size figure down by 106 aircraft.

Airbus also lost a UPS order for 10 A380Fs last year.

Narrowbody orders stayed strong, however, and Airbus' gross and net figures for the A320 differ by just one airframe. Airbus secured net orders for 913 A320s, exceeding those for the rival Boeing 737.

Airbus values its net orders for 1,341 aircraft at $157.1 billion.
