Brazilian airframer Embraer delivered 20 jets to the commercial aircraft operators during the first quarter compared with 21 for the year prior.

The bulk of the deliveries were Embraer E-190s with customers accepting 11 of the type. During the first quarter Embraer delivered six E-195s, two E-175s and a single E-170.

Embraer currently has a total a backlog of 270 aircraft in its commercial division, two ERJ-145s and 268 E-Jets.

During the first quarter Embraer delivered eight aircraft to the executive aviation market -- six of its light jet Phenoms and two large bizjets. The manufacturer delivered 19 aircraft to the business jet market during the first quarter of 2010.

The value of Embraer's firm order backlog remained roughly flat year-over-year for the first quarter at $16 billion. But the backlog value grew by $400 million from 31 December 2010, says Embraer.

During the first quarter Embraer sold 44 new E-Jets.
