Delta TechOps has signed a five-year component maintenance and exchange agreement with Skymark Airlines to provide advance exchange engine power-by-the-hour (PBTH) services to the Japanese low-cost carrier's CFM International CFM56-7B powered Boeing 737s.

The deal, announced at the Aviation Week MRO Americas show in Miami, expands the existing five-year agreement between TechOps and Skymark, which is provided through maintenance provider Evergreen Aviation Technologies (EGAT).

"This new agreement will further bolster Delta TechOps' maintenance repair and overhaul presence in Asia, which has grown substantially in recent years," says Delta TechOps president Tony Charaf.

Kimiyoshi Sakaki, Skymark Airlines director says the close working relationship between TechOps and EGAT - as well as the Asian MRO's experience with 737 Next Generation aircraft and CFM56-7B engines, were "a key part of Skymark's decision to award the new contract to Delta TechOps."

Skymark currently operates a fleet of 18 Boeing 737-800s, with an additional seven on order.
