Rockwell Collins’ cabin management system (CMS) has been certificated for installation in the Dassault Falcon range of business jets. The US avionics manufacturer says the CMS is the first all-digital network to be cleared for use on the Falcons. It is now standard on the Falcon 7X and 900, and an option on the 2000.
“We have thoroughly tested the system on the ground and in flight, and we are very pleased with the results,” says Dassault programmes VP Eric Monsel. “We are now in production with the system, aiming for first deliveries early next year.”
Formerly designated Airshow 21, the powerful network is designed to support a variety of entertainment, connectivity, productivity and cabin environmental control functions.
Wireless option
Passengers can access all capabilities through a touch-screen control unit. A complementary wireless local area network is available as an option.
Among the Rockwell Collins entertainment and information offerings that the network can support are the Airshow 4000 moving-map and passenger information system and Tailwind 500 in-flight television.
Airshow 4000 features richly detailed maps and the ability to receive real-time news via VHF and satellite datalink. Available since 2004, Tailwind 500 enables business aircraft to receive direct-broadcast satellite television signals in multiple geographic regions, including the contiguous United States, Europe and the Middle East.
