RUAG Aviation’s Dornier 228 is dropping into FIDAE as part of a Latin American demo tour that takes in 10 countries and over 40,000km (26,900 miles) in 56 days.

Product manager Fabian Kölliker says the series of visits will allow potential customers to get up close and personal with the short take-off and landing, twin turboprop utility aircraft.

“We will be presenting the Dornier 228 to people and organisations who are interested in it and give them an on-site demonstration of the aircraft’s advantages,” he says. Potential customers include airlines, mining companies and air forces, adds the Swiss company’s sales manager Carlos Salamanca, who says seeing the Dornier 228 at close quarters will “enable them to get an impression of just how many configurations are possible”.

As well as FIDAE, the tour is taking in Mexico, Brazil, Panama, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Argentina and Paraguay.
