Orel Aircraft’s VH2 ultra-light piston-single made its public debut at Aero, as the French start-up sought to woo industrial partners to help bring the all-composite aircraft to market.

“We aren’t looking to attract investment from private investors,” says VH2 project leader Jean- François Boudet. “We want a strong partner who is already in the aircraft manufacturing business who can help take this project to the next level.”

The VH2 made its first flight last year. It has a cruise speed of 145kt (269km/h) and a maximum range of 680nm (1,260km). “It has huge potential in the LSA market, but we’re not in a position to produce it ourselves,” adds Boudet.
