IRobot announced in a Wednesday panel it will send another Warrior robot to Japan this month to help with relief efforts after the March 11 earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster.

Vice president of operations Tim Trainer says the company will also work to develop business relations with the Tokyo Electric Power Company.

"That's how the support and follow-up capabilities make it to those enduring tragedies," Trainer said.

The company currently has two Warrior robots and two PackBots at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant. Vacuum systems attached to the robots have reduced radiation in some areas by up to 30 percent.

Center for Robot-Assisted Search and Rescue director Robin Murphy said the organization would also return to Japan in October. Its new mission will focus on multi-agent coordination.
