Five people on the ground were killed when an Aeromexico McDonnell Douglas DC-9-30 (N936ML) overran the wet runway at Reynosa airport just after a tropical storm had passed through. There were no casualties among the five crew and 83 passengers on board. The 30-year old DC-9 arrived at around 16.55h, in light wind after a flight from Mexico City. The data recorder has been sent to Washington DC for analysis.
