The Airbus Training Center in Miami has added a new A320 full-flight simulator (FFS) produced by FlightSafety International.

The centre’s sixth FFS includes the VITAL 1100 visual system with a 60 by 200 degree field of view and continuous high-resolution global satellite imagery, along with a 152cm (60in) electric motion capability.

The FFS also is equipped to train operators on A320s powered by either CFM International CFM56-5B engines or International Aero Engines V2500 engines, and using the Honeywell flight management guidance computer, Airbus says.

The Miami training centre also includes three more A320 FFS systems and two more for the A330/340.

About 2,000 trainees annually visit the centre from A320 operators in the US, Canada and Latin America, Airbus says.
