Sir - Following recent correspondence in Flight International about the safety of Airbus aircraft, I believe that what is happening is the result of resistance to change.

I was suspicious the first time I travelled in an Airbus A320 as a passenger. I think that people in general are suspicious and "inflate" facts when accidents occur with new products. This happened with the Douglas Dakota, Lockheed Electra, Boeing 707 and so on.

What counts is the commitment of the supplier to prove its point, and its technology, and be strong enough to resist criticism.

This definitely has to be the case with Airbus Industrie.
