Air France Cargo was set to launch a weekly Boeing 747 cargo service from Paris/Charles de Gaulle to Helsinki at the end of May.

American Airlines Cargo is to introduce a 4.3 per cent fuel surcharge on its US domestic cargo and priority parcel service charges in July.

Air Hong Kong expects to start a thrice weekly cargo service from Hong Kong to Chicago/O'Hare in the second quarter using a B747-200 freighter.

SAS will introduce six weekly services this summer from Oslo, Stockholm and Helsinki to Manchester. It will also start nonstop services from Copenhagen to Newcastle, operating twice daily on weekdays and daily at weekends, and weekly flights from Stockholm to Edinburgh.

Continental Airlines has confirmed a new twice daily Newark to Toronto service as of July. It expects to start a service from Raleigh-Durham to Toronto via Newark.

British Airways plans to reintroduce flights from London/Gatwick to Belgrade this July following a 15 year gap. The service will operate three times weekly.

All Nippon Airways expects to launch twice weekly services from Tokyo to Delhi via Bangkok and from Osaka to Bombay. ANA plans nonstop weekly flights from Osaka/ Kansai to Milan/Malpensa and twice weekly flights to Frankfurt with Boeing 747-200s. Planned twice weekly services to Yangon will use a Boeing 767-300ER.

UK startup World Airlines has started six daily flights from London/City to Amsterdam using BAe 146-200s. Malmö Aviation intends to start a twice daily service from Malmö Sturup to London/City in September.

Finnair is to double freight terminal space at Helsinki, making the terminal the largest in the Nordic countries.

South African regional SA Airlink is to link Durban, Pietermaritzburg and Ulundi using a Jetstream 41 provided by the KwaZulu-Natal Government under a profit sharing arrangement.
