British Airways' regional subsidiary, BA CityFlyer, is ordering another Embraer 190 for its London City-based operation.

The aircraft, to be configured with 98 seats, will be included in the fourth-quarter order books, the Brazilian airframer confirms.

BA CityFlyer operates 14 Embraer twinjets comprising eight 190s and six 170s.

Managing director Adam Carson says the type is "very versatile" and "well-suited" to the airline's network.

"Delivering terrific performance, and with an excellent climb rate and superior environmental qualities, the 190 is proving ideal for our London City operations," he says.

Embraer describes the follow-on order as a "great endorsement" by the carrier in the E-Jet family.
