Bangladeshi start-up United Airways has received its first aircraft and hopes to launch commercial operations by the end of June. The Bombardier Dash 8-100 arrived in Dhaka following a ferry flight from Hawaii. The airline purchased the aircraft from Singapore's Phoenix Aircraft Leasing, which bought it from Hawaii's Island Air.

United Airways plans to start with domestic flights serving Dhaka, Chittagong and Cox's Bazaar, and add services from Dhaka to Kathmandu in Nepal and Kolkata in India by the end of the year.
