Brazil will upgrade the 12 Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) Kfir C-10 fighters it is purchasing with an Elta radar, a glass cockpit, a new mission computer and electronic warfare system, and Python 4 air-to-air missiles. Work will be carried out by IAI's Lahav. The Kfirs are former Israeli air force aircraft which Brazil will use until the delivery of new fighters under its F-XBR competition.

The Kfirs will replace Brazil's Mirage IIIEBR/DBR fleet, and will operate until at least 2007.
