Virgin Express and SN Brussels Airlines have announced that they will operate under a single brand from the start of the summer season in April 2007. The board of SN Airholding, which owns both airlines, has approved the merger plan, but a new name will not be announced until later this year. The unified airline will offer two distinct products: a basic low-fare offering for the price-sensitive market, and an upgraded product for those travellers seeking better service, convenience and flexibility.

EuroAtlantic courts Hi Fly The plan of charter carrier and lessor EuroAtlantic Airways to acquire fellow Portuguese charter airline Hi Fly (formerly Air Luxor) has stalled. The deal is being held up by a pending court action brought by Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise (SALE) against Hi Fly for an alleged non-payment of a $6.1 million debt. A decision by the court is expected within a month.
