CHARTER ALLIANCE

Bombardier Flexjet and Austrian-headquartered VIP charter provider VistaJet have joined forces to provide a "streamlined global private aviation service" for their customers. Under the terms of the agreement Flexjet fractional and jet card customers travelling to Europe, the Middle East or Asia can use VistaJet's all-Bombardier fleet "at preferred rates", while VistaJet customers travelling to the USA receive a reciprocal service through the Flexjet 25 jet card fleet operated by Jet Solutions. VistaJet acquired Bombardier's European-based Skyjet brokerage in 2006.

CARAVAN PROPELLED

Propel Aviation Sales & Services has become an authorised sales representative for Cessna's Caravan single-engined turboprop family in the US states of Alabama, Florida and Georgia. The Miami-based company is already a Cessna authorised single-engine, multi-engine and propjet service centre and a Federal Aviation Administration Part 145 repair station.

CLAY APPROVAL

Embraer has selected Clay Lacy Aviation as an authorised service centre for the Phenom 100 and Phenom 300 business jets in southern California. The Los Angeles-based business aviation service provider will offer inspections, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, paint touch-ups and interior shop services. Embraer says 64 Phenom jets are registered in the USA.

SNOW DAMAGE

A heavy snowstorm on the US East Coast caused the roof to collapse at Dulles Jet Center in Washington DC earlier this month inflicting hefty damage to the business jets beneath. The unprecedented snowfall in Washington and northern Virginia created a massive load on the roof, forcing it down on to two Bombardier Global Expresses and a Gulfstream G550. It is not known whether the aircraft can be repaired.
