RUSSIAN FIRST

Jet Aviation has become the first line maintenance facility for Bombardier Business Aircraft in Russia. Located at Moscow's Vnukovo business aviation airport, which handles 70% of all business aviation traffic in Russia, the Swiss headquartered business aviation services provider will offer round the clock aircraft-on-ground service for Challenger and Global business jet models.

DAYJET EXPANDS

US air taxi operator DayJet has expanded its network in the southeast USA to include Macon, Georgia Montgomery, Alabama and North Miami/Opa Locka Airports in Florida.

RADAR APPROVAL

Eclipse Aviation has clinched US certification for its advanced weather radar system designed by Eclipse and Japan Radio. The Albuquerque, New Mexico-based airframer has also opened its third service centre in the USA at New York state's Albany International airport.

SERVICE ENTRY

The first Bombardier Challenger 890 corporate shuttle version of the CRJ900 regional jet has entered service with Alberta-based Suncor Energy, which is developing oil sands resources in western Canada. The aircraft will join Suncor's Challenger 850 corporate shuttle, in operation since March 2006, in transporting workers.

HARD PRESSED

The Taiwanese press has slammed its government for selling its majority stake in business jet developer Sino Swearingen Aircraft to a group of investors lead by Action Aviation of the UK. They condemned the government for wasting money to set up the company, only to sell its controlling stake to a foreign firm when it has begun to deliver the SJ30 light business jet.
