A New Zealand flying instructor crashed a Piper Cherokee into Auckland Harbour, 50m from shore, last week after he allegedly threatened to fly the aircraft into the city’s Sky Tower – the tallest structure in the southern hemisphere. The aircraft was reported to have been stolen from Massey University, where the flight instructor was formerly employed.
