Swedish regional City Airline is planning an expansion of its second base in the French city of Lyons as it adds routes from home base Gothenburg and looks at more aircraft.

City’s managing director Tom Ericsson told the annual general meeting of the European Regions Airline Association, also meeting in Gothenburg, that Lyons has “great potential” for route expansion. The airline bases an Embraer ERJ-145 regional jet in the city to service its Gothenburg-Lyons route, which could be used to offer new destinations, including points in Germany and the UK, says Ericsson.
