• Smiths Aerospace has received a contract potentially worth $52 million over the next 10 years to provide performance-based logistics support for the UK Royal Air Force's Lockheed Martin C-130J/K transports.
  • Northrop Grumman is to produce centre barrel replacement-plus structures for 23 of the US Navy's Boeing F/A-18 Hornet fighters under a $20 million service life extension deal. A further nine shipsets worth $8.6 million will be supplied to the Royal Australian Air Force by December 2009.
  • Lockheed Martin is to produce and install mission systems in seven P-3 Orion maritime patrol aircraft for Pakistan under a $186.5 million contract. Radar, electronic support measures, acoustic system and electro-optical/infrared sensors are included.
  • The Italian defence ministry has awarded Alcatel Alenia Space a €103 million ($133 million) contract to produce the Sicral-1B military communication satellite for launch by year-end.
  • McDonald Dettwiler & Associates is to test and deliver new surveillance radars for the Canadian Forces' Lockheed CP-140 Aurora (P-3) maritime patrol aircraft under a C$78 million ($92 million) contract. Four prototypes will be installed from April, followed by 18 production systems.
  • Northrop Grumman has selected Danish AutoLog Team to provide a virtual team trainer system demonstrator for the Lockheed Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. The simulated airbase environment will enable maintenance personnel to practice manoeuvring the aircraft.
  • ManTech International has received a five-year, $39 million US Navy contract to provide services for the military flight operations quality assurance programme, which will analyse flight data to improve aircrew and aircraft performance.
  • Rockwell Collins UK has received an almost £380,000 ($745,000) contract to provide RT-3000 VHF/UHF tranceivers for the UK Royal Air Force's BAE Systems Hawk T1/1A trainers.
