The Royal Danish Air Force has ordered two additional Challenger 604s from Bombardier Aerospace to add to the Challenger they bought two years ago.

Like the initial Challenger 604, which was delivered to the RDAF last November, the two new aircraft will be used in a multi-role capability, supporting maritime surveillance missions (fisheries protection and anti-pollution) as well as search and rescue throughout Danish coastal areas in Europe and Greenland.

They will also provide the government with long range VIP transportation capability and medical evacuation. All three Challengers aircraft will be based initially at Vaerloese, north of Copenhagen. The two Challengers will roll out of Bombardier¹s production facility in Montreal later this year. Pilot training is being provided at the Bombardier Aerospace Training Centre in Montreal.
