China's Deer Jet has opened the first fixed-base operation in southern China, and is looking to establish more FBOs in other parts of the country to serve the growing business aviation market.
The Shenzhen Business Aviation Centre, located next to Terminal B at the Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, has handled more than 50 aircraft so far since its official opening late last year, says the centre's general manager, Paul Desgrosseilliers.
Deer Jet, a subsidiary of the Hainan Airlines group, was a partner in a joint venture with Jet Aviation that set up a FBO in Beijing in 2008. The Shenzhen FBO, however, is operated by Deer Jet alone.
It is looking to open up more FBOs in China and is in talks with a few Chinese airports, says Desgrosseiilliers.
The Shenzhen facility, with three floors of office space, is equipped with a VIP lounge, galley and dedicated security and immigration channels. It also has a pilot lounge, crew rest area, conference room and office space for its customers, says Deer Jet.
"We are committed to bring a superior level of service that will not only meet the expectations of our clientele, but exceed in all areas of service that are currently offered by FBOs not only in China, but around the globe," says Desgrosseilliers.
Besides the Beijing and Shenzhen FBOs, there is a third FBO in Shanghai operated by Hawker Pacific and the Shanghai Airport Authority.
