Investigations have begun after a Dniproavia Embraer ERJ-145 overran the edge of runway 24 at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport today, suffering a collapsed nosewheel.
Early reports suggest the nosewheel collapse took place while still on the runway. There were 44 people on board and none were harmed during the incident.
The aircraft, registered UR-DNE, was built in 2000 and is powered by two Rolls-Royce AE3007A1 engines. It was inbound to Istanbul from Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine.
